Hello everyone and welcome
to another Friday Feature!
This feature covers one of
the ways players can earn points in our cluster, server voting! Voting for a
server will reward you with 100 points per vote. We have two different sites
that players can vote on to receive points.
The first voting site is Top Ark Servers. On Top Ark, you can vote
for 3 separate maps every 8 hours, rewarding you with a maximum of 900 points
everyday (24 hours from the time of casting a vote). Before being able
to vote on Top Ark, you need to create an account and then link your Steam to
that account.
The second voting site is Ark Servers. On Ark servers, you can
vote for 3 separate maps every 24 hours, rewarding you with a maximum of 300
points everyday (24 hours from the time of casting a vote).
Altogether, you can earn a
total of 1200 points a day just for voting! I will explain the sign up and
voting process for each site below, as well as how to claim your votes in-game.
You can find the links to vote for our cluster’s maps in the #voting-info channel on our Discord.
Linking Steam Account for Top Ark:
Step 1: Click on your profile image located on the top right corner of the page. This will bring up a drop-down menu where you will then select “Account Settings” from the list.
Step 2: On
the next page, select the Steam icon
found near the top of the page. This will take you to a page for your Top Ark
Steam settings. Here you will click on the large Steam button on the middle right of the page.
Step 3: On
the Steam page that pops up, fill in your Steam login information and hit the Sign In button to connect your Steam
account to your Top Ark account. Top Ark does not have access to your login
information and is secure. Linking your Steam account allows us to connect
your votes on Top Ark with your Ark character for in-game vote redemption.
Voting on Top Ark:
After linking your Steam, voting on Top Ark is pretty
simple. All you need to do is follow one of the links found in our Discord
channel #voting-info, which
will bring you to that map’s Top Ark page (The examples I’m using below are
for our cluster’s Ragnarök map.). On this page you’ll find a “Cast A Vote” button. Click this, and a
vote confirmation screen will pop up. You need to check the box confirming that
you are indeed not a robot (do not lie if you are a robot) and then click the “Confirm Vote” button. The pop-up
window will then close and a message saying, “You have successfully cast a vote for…” will briefly show up at
the top of the webpage as confirmation that your vote went through.
Another way to check and see if your vote successfully
went through is to scroll down the map’s voting page to the Recent Voters section and select the “View All” button. This will bring up a
window with a list of all the people who have voted for that page’s map as well
as the date of when they voted. Check to see if your name is on this list to
confirm that your vote went through.
Voting on Ark Servers:
To vote on Ark Servers, you are not required to make
an account for the website. However, when voting, you will need to vote using
your Steam account. To do this, all you need to do is select the “Sign in through STEAM” button.
This will bring up a new window where you’ll need to
sign into your Steam account. Like Top Ark, this is a secure site that will not
access your login details. Once you’ve signed in, you’ll be taken back to the
Ark Servers website.
The page should display a “Vote Confirmation…… Thank you for your vote!” message to show that
your vote went through.
Claiming your vote rewards in-game:
There are 2 different ways to claim your point rewards
in-game. The first way is to use the /claim
command in the game chat window. A little while after using the command, you
will see messages pop up in your in-game chat confirming that your points have
been sent.
The second way to claim your point rewards is by
opening the F3 shop and
selecting the “Claim Votes”
button located on the bottom left of the shop window. Similar to using the /claim command, after selecting the “Claim Votes” button, you will see
messages pop up in your in-game chat confirming that your points have been
sent.
