Friday Feature: S+ Aggregator and S+ Vivarium

The S+ Aggregator is a structure introduced with the 2021 version of S+ It takes over the S+ Item collector from earlier versions, and also adds several other quality of life functions to the game. Once you unlock the aggregator at level 72, you can then use it to do many automated tasksfor you, some of these tasks include picking up eggs, pasts, gacha crystals, and many other items that dinos will normally drop out onto the ground.

The S+ Vivarium is a structure introduced with the S+ MOD. This specific structure is considered a quality of life structure. It is very simple to use and deploy and can gain you huge benefits in game. To start using this item, you can either purchase it from the premium shop packaged with the aggregator (https://mysticisles.premiumark.net/shop/36ad2328-cab6-4066-91a4-bff0c8063cd8/show), or you can unlock it once you reach level 99 in game.

S+ Aggregator

This useful structure can be used to help you keep things running while you are busy playing. To use it, place the structure down, and then bring up your radial menu. You will be offered two main options, Collection Options and Distribution Options. We will start with collection options. To use this menu, while the radial menu is up, click on the collection options.

Collection Options

With this menu up, you will notice plenty of things the aggregator can do for you. It can pick up all poop and store it into the structure, eggs both fertile and sterile, and any and all resources that are dropped by dinos that you may have sitting out in your base. Furthermore, it will also pick up things from other S+ structures you have in your base. These are things such as crops, beer, or spoiled meat. While this is not the best method to use when collecting these types of passive resources, it will still save you from picking them up manually. The best method would be the Dino Storage soul terminal that we will cover in a different Friday Feature. Once these items are picked up, it will store them in the aggregator and hold them unless you give it a distribution option.

Distribution Options

You can bring up the distribution options by using the radial menu and selecting Distribution Options. Inside of this menu, you will see what the aggregator can do with the items that it stores inside. You can send all your necessary items to other S+ Structures to make fertilizer for you, or use it to fill you beer barrels or your forges. This structure is also now responsible for picking up and transferring all gacha crystals to a S+ Crystal Cracker. If you want to setup a mostly automated gacha farm, this structure takes complete control of what the S+ Item collector used to do. With a little setup, you can have it pickup up your crystals and putting them into crackers for you. Additionally you can even use to pass Owl Pellets to gachas, or keep fuel, ammo, or food in important structures so they never go empty. One of the best options available in this menu is the “Upload to Dedicated Storage Option”. You can have this work together with other structures such as the S+ Vivarium to send all of your collected items to a S+ dedicated storage automatically.

Below we will give detail on how to use the Vivarium and the Aggregator together to make a full automated resource farm that works even if you are offline.

S+ Vivarium

The S+ Vivarium is probably the best quality of life structure in the S+ mod. If you use this structure properly, you will not have to farm almost any resource in the game if you do not want too. This structure will passively produce resources for you while you are online or offline. What it produces is dictated upon what dinos you have inside of the vivarium. Furthermore, it has 3 different map settings to choose from, each one of these settings will make the dinos inside make a different set of passive resources. For a full guild on what dinos produce what resources, check out the S+ Vivarium wiki page located here: https://ark.fandom.com/wiki/Mod:Structures_Plus/S%2B_Vivarium.

Once you have these two structures placed within range of each other, you can now begin to fill your vivarium’s with dinos.(dinos work best in soul balls from the Dino Storage MOD) Each vivarium can hold 100 soul balled dinos, you can use a variety of dinos, or all the same kind depending on what you want your vivarium to produce for you. Mystic Isles allows you to have 3 vivariums on every map per tribe, so with a little work you can cover nearly every resource the game has to offer.

When you finish filling up your vivarium it will take about 30 minutes for it to start producing resources. It is important to remember that it will not work unless you set up the aggregator to collect these resources for you. With that being said the first thing you will and to do is go back your aggregator and open the Collection Options menu. From here, checkmark the From Vivariums option on the bottom left of the menu. It is also a good idea if you have them setup to go to the Distribute Options, and select Upload to Dedicated Storage option. Using these two options together will make the vivarium fully automated and you will not have to empty the aggregator when it fills up. If you do not yet have a dedicated storage option, you will have to remember to empty the aggregator from time to time or it will not produce any more resources for you.

Now that you have waited and the aggregator is pulling resources for you, you will probably notice that it has filled up rather quickly. This is because one of the passive production options from the vivarium to produce poop from the dinos inside. To get around this, bring up your aggregators radial menu, go to Collection Options, and click the Ignore List button at the bottom. From here you can ignore anything you do not want the aggregator to pick up from the vivarium. Go ahead and select any types of poop that were generated from the vivarium and add them to the ignore list, then empty all of the poop from the aggregator.

Congratulations! You have now successfully setup your first vivarium/aggregator resource farm! From here you can start doing different types of dinos in each one until you are producing all the resources you want, and freeing up more time to play!
