The mod version
mismatch error occurs when steam mod do not match up to installed games mods, for
some reason steam has issues noticing when a mod updates, and sometimes it
fails to update the mod on the user side. Below we will go through some steps
to help get you back playing!
Step 1
Go to https://mods.miark.online
Once you are
on this page, you will see a collection of every mod that we run. Now if you
know the last mod that was updated, this part is simple. You just click the
check mark (Red Box) which will unsubscribe from the mod, give a few seconds
and then click the + (Green Box) to re-subscribe to the mod . Once you do this,
go back to steam and see if your mod started downloading like below.
If your mod is
downloading, then that’s it, if not, sometimes you might have to restart steam
to force the download to start. If this step works for you it will start
downloading. Once it finishes you
should be able to load back into the game and start playing as normal! If not or you do not know what mod was updated last, please go onto step 2.
Step 2
So maybe it
has been a while and you are not sure what all mods need to be updated? First
thing to do is head back to the Mystic Isles discord, go to the #bot-command channel
and use the !last command (If you have not linked your discord, this command
will not work for you, it is highly advised that you link your discord so we can always provide you
with the best support, use !link in the #bot-command channel for information on
linking your discord, its quick, easy, and you will earn 1000 bonus points!) If
you have your discord linked, you will see a box pop up that will tell you the
last day you were logged on. Keep this date handy. Now open your web browser
and go to https://steamcommunity.com
. Once you are here, login to steam using your user name and password.
Once you are
logged in, you will be brought to your account profile page. On the right hand
side you will see a link that says “Workshop Items” please click that link and move
on to the next step.
Step 3
Once you are
here, look on the right hand side again for the link “Subscribed Items” once
you find it, click that link, it will take you to the following page.
Look again on
the right hand side for “Subscribed Items” use the drop down box to sort your
mods by “Date Updated” Now you will
notice on the left that all the mods you are subscribed too are listed by the
date they were last updated. Simply go through and unsubscribe from all mods
updated since you last played, wait a few seconds, then re-subscribe to the
mods. You should then see steam start to download all the updated mods, if not you might need to restart steam to force the update to start. Once they are
finished, you should be able to log in and play as normal. If you are still
getting this error, please move on to step 4.
Step 4
Well it looks
like ARK is just not being nice to you, when we get to this point, the only
option we have is to go back to https://mods.miark.online
login to your steam account if you are not already. Look for the “Unsubscribe from
all” button and click it, wait a few seconds, then click the "Subscribe to all
button." Go back to steam and see if your updates have started downloading, if
not, once again you might have to restart steam to force the update to happen. When
the updates finish downloading you should be able to login and play as normal.
If not, please return to discord and check the verify files FAQ (!faq verify).
We hope this
guide helps you get back online with us, if you are having trouble
understanding what to do, you can always open a support ticket in discord (use !faq
support in discord for information) . We will answer as soon as we can and try
to help you to the best of our ability.
